I’m Mathieu Vereecke, a veterinary surgeon qualified in 2004. I am originally from Belgium but shortly after graduating, I moved to Cornwall.

 

Having grown up in Belgium and with family still based there, I used to regularly travel abroad with my own dog. At the time, the process was straightforward thanks to the EU pet passport scheme, making cross-border travel simple and stress-free.

 

Since then, the rules around pet travel have become significantly more complex and, for many pet owners, confusing, expensive and time-consuming. Having experienced both sides of this change, I understand first-hand the challenges  that come with organising travel for your pet.

 

That’s why I founded CertiPaws — a Cornwall based, specialised export certification service dedicated to pet travel. Our focus is to provide a seamless, convenient, and cost-effective way to travel abroad with your pet, with complete confidence that every detail is handled correctly.
